DJ Muro at the Bambaataa Master of Records Open Archive
DJ Muro was in town for a few gigs, and we took the opportunity to catch up and continue our interview for the upcoming Dust & Grooves book.
We met at the the Afrika Bambaataa Master of Records Open Archive at Gavin Brown’s enterprise (620 Greenwich St., NYC), an initiative Gavin Brown’s enterprise and Johan Kugelberg/Boo-Hooray Gallery, together with Afrika Bambaataa, the Universal Zulu Nation and Cornell University Library.
We browsed Bambaataa’s vinyl collection while Kool DJ Red Alert was spinning Funk, Disco and Hip Hop from Bambaataa’s collection.
The open archive is open to the public thru August 10th. This is a rare opportunity to get a glimpse into the vinyl crates of a living legend.
sure love to know if he has Kool DJ AJ on White Diamond Records or Mistafide – Equidity Fink on Land Of Hits Records in there someplace.
Don’t know if Bam does Freddy but I got both of those on my shelves 😉
