L.A. Trip, Book & Road Trip update

Hello dear friends and backers,

It’s been a while since our last update. lots of things happened since. some are really exciting.

WEST COAST TRIP:

I have just recently came back from a very productive visit to LA. Been working hard on photographing more collectors and spreading the gospel of Dust & Grooves on the west coast. Here are a few of the new collectors profiled:

Cut Chemist (needs no introduction):
Egon (Now-Again records):
Mario Caldato jr. (Music producer for The Beastie Boys)
Oliver Wang (O-Dub) :
Jeff Gold:
Joe Altruda:
A VISIT TO THIRD MAN RECORDS, NASHVILLE, TN
On the way back to Brooklyn, I made a stop in Nashville to meet the fabulous people at Third Man Records. I had a blast and also had a chance to profile Ben Blackwell who’s also known as the White Stripes’ official archivist.
Ben then took me for a ride at the Third man headquarters and I witnessed the completion of their “Novelties Lounge” (sorry, no photos here) and then we went on a tour at their impressive old school pressing plant, United Record Pressing.
BOOK AND ROAD TRIP UPDATE
Since the great success of our Kickstarter campaign, Dust & Grooves has gained populaity among broader audience and managed to reach out to some interesting people in the music industry.

There are now talks of having a publisher to the Dust & Grooves book, and we couldn’t be more excited about it (more info to come soon).
I have decided not to make a rush move and pospone the roadtrip to spring 2013. This extra time will allow me to conduct a thorough research on intersting collectors and music related subjects, and will eventualy lead to a better, more insighful book. I also teamed up with some top notch music and vinyl experts to help me map out and reveal this hidden world of vinyl collectors.
The road trip will take place on May/June 2013 and the estimated book publishing date is now end of summer 2013.

DUST & GROOVES IN THE MEDIA:

I was recently interviewed for a short episode about retro media on PBS Off Book.

We also got featured on KCET website with a great article by Oliver Wang about my recent visit to LA. Read it here.

And another small appearance on Fast Company magazine:

I thank you for your patience and continuing support!

Keep digging,
Eilon
