INSIDE THE NEW ROUGH TRADE RECORD STORE IN BROOKLYN WITH WAYNE COYNE OF THE FLAMING LIPS

Project Info

Project Description

We take a tour of the most talked about record shop to open in years and meet up with Flaming Lips’ frontman Wayne Coyne to chat records and just why it’s so important that kids are buying Justin Bieber on vinyl.
Last year, Rough Trade added to their two London shops with the long-awaited opening of Rough Trade New York, a Stateside outpost for the burgeoning independent retailer, nestled snuggly in the heart of Brooklyn’s Williamsburg district. It’s the biggest of all three Rough Trade stores and perhaps the most talked about record shop to open in years, at a time when headlines still seem to be dominated by closures, whether at Bleeker Bobs in New York or On the Beat in London.

This short was shot by Dust & Grooves for our friends at The Vinyl Factory in the UK.
