INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY WITH DUST & GROOVES

Internship opportunity with Dust & Grooves

We are seeking a part-time intern!

This internship will provide you with valuable insight into PR/marketing and the publishing world, work experience in professional photo shoots, as well as a look into the inner workings of independent music marketing and publicity. Since D&G is still growing, this is a hands-on project in casual work environment. You will be part of the team, invited to share your own ideas, discuss strategies and encouraged to take initiative.

INTERNSHIP AVAILABILITY:

1 unpaid position for three months beginning in May 2014 (school credit is available)

16-18 hours per week between 9am and 5pm, Monday-Friday, preferably broken up between two or three days (however, a more flexible schedule can be arranged).

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A team player, self-motivated, with a positive attitude

  • Strong organizational ability, communication skills, and attention to details

  • Should be able to meet deadlines and work independently

  • Must have laptop

  • Computer skills – Mac OSX, Excel/Word/Access

  • Savvy with social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr etc.

  • 18 years of age or older

 

BONUS SKILLS:

  • Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, word press, and/or basic HTML

  • Previous experience in PR/marketing or database/file management experience

  • Some proficiency with DSLR cameras and shooting video

  • An interest in music and/or record collecting

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct web-based research and manage relationships with press/media outlets

  • Assist with managing social networking websites and media campaigns

  • Help write press releases and blog posts

  • Participate in marketing strategy meetings

  • General administrative work as needed (packing/shipping, etc)

  • Management of database (archiving/filing, transcribing, etc)
