I thought that Volume 1 could not be topped but they have done it again. Vol. 2 is a great addition to the series and it’s not the same book rehashed. The authors have chosen to go with a different format and it’s just a great book to pick up and it’s also cool that you can go back and look at pics of people’s spaces and find new gems. Nice work again, D&G crew.

I got home on Thursday from a rough day at work and feeling run-down. I found a large package awaiting me. I took some time before opening it…and just to say amidst the noise, chaos, division, greed and evil that me do….this was a breath of fresh air, a reminder of why I love records. f@@king incredible…so much joy and love

When I received, looked through and read the first volume of the Dust & Grooves book, it became an instant favourite of mine and a source of inspiration for continuing to compile my own record collection. Ten years, and many hundreds of records later, Volume 2 arrived and omg … this is not a book. This is a bible, a timeless reference, an eternal journey and an emotional object I will revisit again and again.

An incredible piece of work that supersedes Vol 1. The mosaic aspect of the photography coupled with detailed interviews makes this a must have celebration of vinyl archaeology. Top work Eilon and team!

I can imagine the past 9 or 10 years getting this second volume ready have been hectic, busy and stressful.
It has been very much worth it. The second volume is excellent and somehow surpasses the first. There is more breadth and diversity and the stories in the Editorial section are fascinating. I loevd the profiles in volume 1 but it is good that the format and content have slightly changed.
The stories on Jazz Kissa, Andy Votel and Tax Scam records are highlights.
Just wanted to say thanks and I really appreciate all the hard work that has gone in to this project.
I would buy the next 20 volumes on sight!!!

It’s absolutely superb. I’m struggling to express just how great an upgrade on the first edition this is.
You deserve all the plaudits this weighty tome will undoubtedly receive. A 5 star product.
I’ve been buying records since 1965 (I was 70 a few weeks ago )and I have never read/ seen a better book on the excitement that records can bring . You can keep your gold and vintage Rolex etc this book is treasure enough for me.

Muchlike I was with Vol 1, I am blown away with Vol 2.
The sheer hard work that has gone into this book is a credit to all involved.
The photos, text, and interviews give an honest & thorough snapshot of a genuine community that exists worldwide.
Volume 1 also opened doors to new music and records that I have since bought, and I am sure Vol 2 will do the same.
There are a number of “vinyl record appreciation” books on the market, but none of them come close to representing what D & G achieves.
It’s been money well spent, and I wish Eilon/D & G the best for Vol 3….. (-:

My copy of Dust & Grooves Vol 2 has arrived here in Glasgow safely. It is even better than I anticipated; amazing, brilliant and every other superlative there is! It’s a wonderful work and well done to you Eilon for creating two volumes of pure joy and absolute genius! My vinyl collecting began in 1960, but there’s a real buzz in seeing and reading about the dedication and expertise of the contributors in both volumes. The first of these was eye opening, but now which the second surpasses a level higher, not an easy thing to have achieved! Every record and music enthusiast should possess copies of Dust & Grooves Vol 1 and 2 for their great editorial, fascinating recollections and collections, all added to by truly astounding photography. If you do you will never want to close the cover and put them down!

Wow, what a book! No! What a piece of work. This book is breathtaking, amazing and an adventure into music culture and collecting vinyls.
I’ve just opened the box and have just had a quick look in the book. But it is diffucult to describe the feeling it gives me and the expentation when I go on reading. I’ve just red twoof the interviews at the ‘Editoral’ (the stories from the collectors). Those are brillant. I like that it doesn’t look like a show off but a persons story of being proud of a vinyl collection. And his/her way into dj’ing.
It is also a great way to get to know new music. I’ve never heard Patti Smiths Hey Joe, an early spoken word-intro (thanks to your photo of Barbie Bertisch). And I can see that there are a lot to get to hear, I’ll look forward to it.
This is a beautiful book of art. I need a copy of vol 1 soon!

I was very excited when Vol 2 was announced as I loved the first book (managed to nab the revised edition) and was keen to see how this particular vinyl discovery journey would unfold. This is particularly because in the time since I first devoured the first book, I’ve become the proud co-owner of my own record store (Rocky Road Records in Sydney, Australia) – I thought I loved vinyl before I started my store, but I love it even more now, and Vol 2 feels like a mirror to my own personal journey of vinyl and music discovery over the past few years. Collecting records is a wonderfully infinite endeavour – there are endless artists and records to discover, there’s always someone new to meet along the way – whether it be a musician, a collector, another vinyl dealer, a promoter, a cover designer etc, and the potential cultural and historical learnings are immense. Vol 2 does a great job of bringing all of this diversity (and more) to the fore…through the photos, the interviews and the collectors featured. I really hope Eilon has it in him to do a Vol 3 and that he comes ‘down under’ to explore vinyl culture in the Australasia / South-East Asia region next time 🙂 or maybe a podcast??!!

I’ve finally finished the two new books, and I have to say, I’m absolutely blown away. There’s so much work and love poured into them. Chapeau! Dust & Grooves volume two turned out exceptionally well, and I had a great time with it. It might even be better than the first book—though I’m not entirely sure yet, since I honestly thought it couldn’t be topped.
The way you can immerse yourself in all the spaces, almost feeling like you’re sitting right there on the couch, is incredible. The photos are so aesthetic, and the texts are a pleasure to read. But most of all, the subjects are beautifully authentic and honest. I absolutely love it.
It’s also wonderful that you’ve included so many female collectors. Finally, someone showing that it’s not just men, even if there are probably still more male collectors than female ones overall. But you’ve struck such a great balance.
Amazing work!
Above all, I think it’s amazing that over the past few months, we got to witness the whole process unfold live on Instagram. To now hold the final product in my hands is such an incredible feeling, even as a fan—I can’t even imagine how you must feel about it!
And the book about portable turntables is so much fun as well—especially since I actually own a few of the ones featured in it.
All in all, I’m absolutely thrilled and so grateful that you’ve created these books.
I’m already so excited for the next editions!!

The journey continues and the passion of worldwide collectors is still stronger than ever.
What an amazing new chapter in the Dust and Grooves legacy. Besides the amazing photographs of collectors, Eilon and company have added in more amazing editorials in the back this time around, and I have to say, that every time I open up this book is dangerous for me. I get the urge to go to my local shop and try to find new gems like the ones featured in here.
Love the diverse group of collectors featured and the LP recommendations they highlight in their hands.
A must for any record collector who enjoys the hunt and making your music space sacred at home.

Both Volume 2 and the Portables book are absolute must haves. Even the box set with the reissue of the original had to get purchased. On top of that the customer service over here is on point. My boxset showed up damaged and Eilon personally made sure it got sorted out.

a great new volume in the annals of record collecting. it has inspiring ideas on “hard to find” records and reminders of records in the collection that have not been played for a while. Enjoyment had sitting on the sofa on the weekend listening to music, reading through the new volume and having a glass of red (or two), with a fire crackling in the background. (winter in Melbourne)
Speed of deliver: excellent. Packing: excellent. Good work all round

When the first volume was published, I bought it immediately and it has become one of my favorite books. I knew that the second volume was available, but I hesitated to buy it due to the recent surge in shipping costs to Japan. However, I finally bought it.
The number of pages and the depth of content in the second volume surpass that of the first volume.
I haven’t read much of it yet, but just looking at the collector’s photos is enjoyable. I’m looking forward to the third volume. Thank you.
