London Book Launch Party at The BBE Store | Recap

Book Launch Party | BBE Store | London
What Went Down

London—what a night! This was the third stop in our book release party tour, and a great way to celebrate the midpoint. We were hosted by the super cool, and super gracious team at The BBE Store in Hackney on Tuesday, 19th November. BBE has been going for almost 30 years, so it was an honor to be able to share their space of such great musical integrity.

As we arrived at the venue, we were not surprised, but perhaps a little apprehensive, about how cold it was on that November London evening. However, we were again, not surprised, but perhaps a little relieved that we could rely on our sturdy English folk to show up in such frosty climates. It was an amazing turnout from start to finish, warming the room up with good vibes.

We’d also like to give a special thanks to our sponsor, The Singleton Whisky, who also ensured everyone was feeling warm and extra good.

The space at BBE makes for a great dancefloor, with one of the most amazing sound systems I have experienced for a place with a 150-person capacity. We were lucky to have sets from 13 incredible DJs featured in Dust & Grooves Vol.2: Rob Life, Adrian Magrys, Kevin Foakes/DJ Food, Dom Servini, Zoë Baxter, Anton Spice, Charlie Dark, Andy Votel, Chris Menist, DJ Format, Mr. Thing, John Armstrong, and Mafada. They all tore the roof down, and got everybody down to get groovy. If you missed their sets, you can see what’s in their collections in Dust & Grooves Vol.2.

On the evening, we also managed to get hold of three Lomography cameras (thanks to the wonderful Hannah Brown), one of which having a fisheye lens. I must admit they came out looking really cool, and what I’m more used to working with. Check out the Lomo gallery we have below, and we’ve managed to get the fisheye to follow us around for the rest of the tour, so there are plenty more of these to come.

We’re also happy to share our digital gallery of photos with you from the evening. Alla Bogdanovic and I were on the case, so if you see any really good ones, be sure to check for her credits first, haha!

Thank you all for coming, it’s so great to have so many record-loving people together in one place to remind us all that this is an amazing community, and really matters. Keep spinning, keep listening, and keep partying hard.
